Curriculum Vitae (PDF) |
Arthur Chiang earned his Ph.D. in Economic Analysis from the Stanford
University Graduate School of Business in 2011, after which he joined Tufts
University as Assistant Professor of Economics. Prior to graduate school,
Arthur graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, summa cum laude,
where he majored in mathematics and economics.
Arthur's research interests are in game theory and macroeconomics. In
particular, he has studied the feedback between aggregate demand (resulting from
changes in income distribution) and high unemployment. Specifically, the work
demonstrates how this feedback can result in sustained periods of high or low
macroeconomic output, known as multiple equilibria. The results of these models
suggest innovative policies that could create self-reinforcing incentives for
firms to simultaneously hire workers, during periods of prolonged unemployment.
Arthur's current work focuses on combining these theoretical insights with
statistical data analysis.
