 | Carrie is
a senior majoring in Biology and Environmental Studies. She hails from
Farmington, CT and has been interested in the natural world since a
young age, exploring tide pools with her Aunt in Oregon and camping
and hiking with her family in the Northeast. In the summer of 2006,
she worked with NYC youth at the Manice Education Center in Florida,
MA to teach them leadership skills, outdoor skills and about how to be
environmentally conscious. She hopes to continue raising awareness in
youth in order to impress upon them the importance of environmental
care in their lives. In the Spring of 2007 she studied in Australia on
the SIT program "Sustainability and the Environment," where she
conducted an independent research project relating a community's
affect on individuals' sense of place. She is interested in
sustainable building practices, permaculture, and the local foods
movement. Carrie enjoys singing, reading, traveling and exploring.
