Graduate Students Virginia Anderson Virginia Anderson is a PhD Candidate. MA Drama, Stanford University; MA Performance & Culture, Goldsmiths College, University of London; BA English & Theatre, Carleton College. President of ASTR Graduate Student Caucus, ATHE Theatre History Focus Group nominating committee, founder of Tufts GOAT. Select honors include: 2007 Kalman A. Burnim Prize for Scholarly Excellence in Drama, First Prize - Randolph Edmonds Young Scholars Competition (Black Theatre Network, 2006), Larry Kessler Scholar (AIDS Action Committee, 2007). Her dissertation, "Beyond Angels: American Theatre of the AIDS Epidemic, 1981-2006," focuses on the United States, building upon research conducted in China, Cuba, and England. Additional research interests include 19th & 20th C European and American drama, musical theatre history, theatre iconography, and the history of popular entertainment. An active director, Ginny has brought Cabaret, The Last 5 Years, and Passion to the stage at Tufts.
Virginia Anderson was selected as one of four Larry Kessler Scholars,
AIDS action Committee, recognizing commitment to human rights advocacy
and social justice: won the Rob Hollister Award for community Service
and Citizenship, Tufts Graduate School. |
