AESOP'S (Oh So Slightly) UPDATED FABLES, by Kim Wylie Esop, are the classic fables of The Dog and the Bone; the Tortoise and the Hare; the Lion and the Mouse; the Fox and the Grapes; the Boy Who Cried Wolf; the Country Mouse and the City Mouse known by everyone…well, not exactly! The stories have been oh, so slightly updated, twisting and turning in a comic romp through these childhood favorites. The morals and lessons remain, but the paths by which they are told are hilarious, filled with fun and laughter!

PIPPI LONGSTOCKING, based on the famed stories of Astrid Lindgren, is the delightful tale of the incomparable Pippi, the girl with upside-down braids who lives in Villa Villekulla. Who scrubs the floor with brushes on her feet? Who visits the circus and becomes a star performer? And whose father is the king of a South Sea island? Why, Pippi Longstocking, of course! Join Pippi and her friends on a whirlwind adventure of horses, monkeys, school, and pirates. She's a confident, strong gal, who knows how to turn an ordinary day into a thrill!

A YEAR WITH FROG AND TOAD is a musical celebration of friendship, rejoicing in the attributes that make each of us different and unique. The play remains true to the spirit of the original stories as it follows the adventures of best friends, the charming Frog and the loveable, but grumpy, Toad. Together they wake from hibernation to indulge in some kite flying, swimming and cookie eating while learning some valuable life lessons. Joined by Mouse, Snail the Mail Carrier, Turtle, a flock of musical birds and the rest of the animal gang, each story is brought to life with hilarious and heart-warming songs reminding us that one of the best things to have in life is a true friend!

The Magic Circle Theater is New England's oldest theater by and for children. This summer three full-length productions will be presented in the air-conditioned Balch Arena Theater. This is a perfect opportunity to introduce children to the theater.

The Balch Arena Theater is located on the Tufts Medford/Somerville campus, about seven miles northwest of Boston. Tickets for all performances are $7.00. Visa, Mastercard and Discover are accepted and group rates are available. For reservations and information, please call (617) 627-3493.
