About the Department The Department of Drama and Dance provides a strong liberal arts approach
to the intellectual, historical, and aesthetic dimensions of performance.
Our program integrates acting, design, dramatic literature, directing,
dance, technical theatre, and theatre history. Whether through immersion
in literature and history or participation in productions, our curriculum
fosters creative, critical, and collaborative thinking. The performance of drama, dance, and film creates an immediate,
physical relationship to major themes of life for audience and
performers alike. They are art forms based on human communication,
arenas where psychology, politics, religion, and gender all come
into play. Drama and dance have forever been powerful forces in
world civilization and are an imaginative mirror, both reflective
and refractive. Learn more about Drama Program. |
