Global LiteracyThe Center for Reading and Language Research is proud to be a founding member of the Global Literacy Collaborative, a consortium of academic and community institutions coming together to address the global challenge of illiteracy.
The goal of the Global Literacy Collaborative is to bring literacy to 100 million children by the end of the decade and reduce world poverty in the decades to come. In order to accomplish this goal, participating organizations are creating and curating applications that illustrate findings from the fields of cognitive neurosciences and psychology and are based on how the brain learns to read. These collected apps help provide an adaptive learning process that tailors itself to the performance and needs of each child, allowing any child to achieve literacy.
