Free and Confidential Groups | Summer 2013
We are pleased to announce that we are offering the following confidential groups and workshops in the Summer 2013 semesters.
Relationship Group | Accepting new patients for the Summer
This is a weekly group in which students will discuss relationships with family, friends, significant others, and the Tufts community. The group will help students build stronger, healthier relationships and increase their understanding of themselves in relationship to others. Students will work towards feeling more empowered in relationships and realizing their social potential. Facilitated by Erik.Marks@tufts.edu and Alena Klimovistky.
The groups and workshops below are offered throughout the Fall and Spring semesters:
Mindfulness and Meditation for Stress Reduction |Not meeting during the summer
In this short-term, weekly group, you will learn and practice a number of techniques to boost wellness, reduce stress, and start and maintain a regular mindfulness and meditation practice that works for you. Facilitated by Christopher.Willard@tufts.edu and Lisa Lewis.
Coping with Loss |Not meeting during the Summer
This is a weekly confidential support group for students who have experienced the death of a family member or friend. This group offers the space to talk with others in a safe, supportive environment. Facilitated by Deborah.Forman@tufts.edu and Ronald Del Castillo.
Mind, Body and Food | Not meeting during the summer
A semester long workshop about improving your relationship with all three. The workshop is interactive, engaging, and emphasizes learning new skills and coping mechanisms. It is a structured workshop and each week will have its own topic. For more information email Tal Nir at Tal@drtalnir.com.
Connections: International student discussion group | Not meeting during the Summer
This is a monthly drop-in group for all international students regardless the length of stay in the U.S., native language, or origin of country. Share experiences and resources, get support, and build network. Discussion topics include adjustment, culture shock, feelings of homesickness, academic concerns, making American friends, acculturation issues, gender issues, or/and relationship. Facilitated by Xuhua.Qin@tufts.edu.
