Postdoctoral Fellowships |
 |
Postdoctoral positions at the Tufts University Counseling and Mental
Health Service (CMHS) offer clinical training in brief
psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and community consultation.
Positions are open to applicants with a doctorate in psychology; all
degree requirements, including the dissertation defense, must be
completed by August 20, before the fellowship begins.
Staff
The CMHS is staffed by clinical psychologists, clinical social
workers, and psychiatrists. For further information about our staff
and services, please view our staff page on the Tufts University website.
Fellowship Responsibilities
This is a full-time, 12-month position. A work week of 35 hours
(Mondays – Fridays, from 9:00am-5:00pm, with one hour per day
allotted for lunch) is required, with the expectation that some
additional time outside of these hours will be needed occasionally
for outreach and emergencies. In addition to treating students and
occasionally staff at Tufts University, consultation and outreach to
the Tufts community is a vital part of our work. Fellows will also
spend time working on-call in our 24-hour emergency service. The
position runs from August to August. Along with legal holidays,
Postdoctoral Fellows receive two weeks of vacation time in December,
one week during Tufts spring break in March, and one week in the
summer.
Training
Training seminars and workshops are held throughout the academic
year. Fellows receive two hours of individual supervision each week
from two different supervisors as well as one hour per week of group
supervision.
Stipend
The salary for the 12-month fellowship is competitive.
Application Process
We accept three Postdoctoral Fellows per year. To apply for a
postdoctoral fellowship at the Tufts University Counseling and
Mental Health Service, please submit an application through the
Human Resources page of the
Tufts University website.
The position is listed as Post Graduate Intern and is posted in
early January. In your cover letter, please tell us why we should be
particularly interested in your application. We welcome and
encourage applications from minority and gay and lesbian candidates.
There is no application deadline, but please note that applications
will be accepted and reviewed until the positions are filled, and
thus it is better to apply earlier rather than later. Letters of
