Students
All currently enrolled full-time students, as well as
currently enrolled part-time students who have paid the
Comprehensive Health Fee, are eligible for assistance at Tufts
University Counseling and Mental Health Services. Specifically,
these students are eligible for an Intake appointment in which their
concerns will be discussed, along with other relevant information.
Recommendations for follow-up, treatment, and/or referral will be
made as indicated.
Fees
Counseling sessions are provided to eligible students free of
charge. If students are referred for psychiatric medication, the
first three visits with the prescribing clinician are free of
charge. Subsequent visits can be charged to insurance, or paid for
out of pocket.
A Note to Staff and Faculty
Staff and Faculty are not eligible for services at the CMHS. If
you are looking for Mental Health Services, you have the following
options:
- Contact Health Resources, the Tufts University Employee
Assistance Program (EAP). This is a confidential, short term
counseling and referral service provided to employees without
charge by Tufts University. It is staffed by licensed,
professional counselors, who can assist employees and their
family members with any type of personal problem. Offices are
located throughout the U.S., and you can choose to be seen at
the location most convenient for you. The national, toll-free
number is 1-800-451-1834 (TTY users please use Relay). In case
of emergency, you can reach someone there 24 hours a day.
- Call your Primary Care Physician or your health insurance
provider for a referral to a Mental Health practitioner
