Saturnís rings open up

. These images were taken from the Hubble Space Telescope during a four-year period, from 1996 to 2000 (left to right), as Saturn moved along one seventh of its 29-year journey around the Sun. As viewed from near the Earth, Saturnís rings open up from just past edge-on to nearly fully open as it moves through its seasons, from autumn towards winter in its northern hemisphere.
