Sinus Sabeus quadrangle

. Heavily cratered highlands dominate the Sinus Sabeus region of Mars, located just south of the equator between 0 and 30 degrees latitude. A large impact crater named after the Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli (1835-1910) marks the northern part of this mosaic image, taken from the Viking orbiters.
