Prior to Arrival
Accommodations
Each summer, our Conference Bureau program guests are housed
in university residence halls. These accommodations are
designed for our Tufts students and are furnished with twin
beds, bureaus, desks, chairs and a closet or wardrobe. In
most of our dormitories, shared bathrooms are located along
the hallways.
Check-In / Check-Out Procedures
Check-in time is 2:00 p.m. Check-out time is 10:00 am unless
special arrangements to extend occupancy have been made.
Residence Halls are open 24 hours for guests with unusual
arrival times. Housing fees must be paid by arrival. Keys
and meal cards must be returned at the end of your stay.
There is a $55 charge for any key set not returned, and a
$10 charge for any meal card not returned.
Directions to
Campus
Tufts University is easily accessible by public
transportation. The nearest MBTA subway stop is located at
Davis Square. For directions to Tufts via public

Packing Tips
We supply each room with sheets, pillows, blankets, small
bath towels, soap, a wastebasket and a table lamp. To add to
your personal comfort you may wish to bring some of the
following items:
- Radio
- Large Bath size towel
- Wash Cloth
- Alarm clock
- Umbrella and rain gear
- Sweater
- Bathrobe
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Cell phone
Computer Registration
Tufts OnLine is the computing support group at the
university which serves summer conference guests. The Tufts
OnLine team is happy to assist you with a range of services
in order to connect to the internet via wired or wireless
connections during your temporary stay at Tufts.
For guests living in the Tufts residence halls on the
Medford/Somerville campus, staff is available for in-room
appointments. For portable computer users walk-in service is
also available Monday through Friday 9am till 5pm. Or call

To register your personal computer to gain internet access
on the Tufts campus:
- We always recommend that you register your computer in
advance in order to allow for processing time. You can
register online.
- Before you go on line, you should obtain the Mac address of
your computer. To do so, there are specific steps to
follow, depending on your computer’s operating system. Tips
are available.

- If you wish to use the Tufts wireless network, be sure to
write down your IP or Ethernet address for your local
connection and your wireless connection. It will be two
unique numbers.
- In addition to the Mac address you will need to enter your
name and phone number and the conference you are attending.
It may take 24 to 48 hours to be approved.
Parking
Guests staying on campus will receive a parking pass when
checking in. Passes should be displayed on the dashboard and
are not valid in metered spaces, fire lanes, Medford and
Somerville streets, or the Dowling Hall parking garage.
Parking is available uphill in the Carmichael lot, downhill
in the Cohen/Aidekman lot, and around campus in designated
areas. Overnight on-street parking is prohibited. Parking on
Medford and Somerville streets is restricted as posted.
Parking is available in Dowling Hall for an additional fee
paid directly to the Tufts Parking Office (tokens may be
purchased within the parking garage).
