Our 2002 April fools joke:
A forged email sent to our advisor:

From: Marc Zimmer
To: Elena RybakAkimova
Dear Dr. Rybak-Akimova,
It has come to my attention upon reviewing several submissions from your
research group that several of your students are planning to present for
the upcoming 224th Boston ACS conference in August.
They will be accepted upon the condition that the students act like
professionals. At the previous Chicago ACS meeting we had to speak to
these students (Ivan Korendovych, Aida Herrera, Jeremy Disch, Viatcheslav
Azev) as they were severely drunk and misbehaved in a way that is not
appropriate for ACS members.
Therefore, I would encourage you would speak to them in order to prevent
a reoccurrence of the same behavior in Boston.
Sincerely,
Marc Zimmer

Subject: Forwarded mail....
I have just received the following Email from Marc Zimmer, the Inorganic
Section program chair, and I am still shocked. Could you make a better
use of free beer provided at the poster sessions? Do you understand
how easy it is to ruin your reputation forever? Do you really want to
be known by the ACS community as "the student who got drunk at the
meeting"? I think we should talk, but a little later, when my frustration
settles down.
Elena
