Faculty Position in Chemical and Biological Engineering for Sustainable Energy

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Tufts University seeks a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. However, exceptional senior candidates will be considered for appointment at the rank of Full Professor. Candidates with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or closely related field, and excellent qualifications in teaching and scholarship will be considered. The primary area of interest is in the energy field – including but not limited to the areas of clean technologies, environmental catalysis and reaction engineering, fuel processing and fuel cells, advanced materials for energy and systems engineering approaches for energy and sustainability. This position is one of three openings that expand Tufts School of Engineering's emphasis on Environmental Sustainability through energy research. In addition to Chemical and Biological Engineering, the departments of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering are also hiring in this field.

Tufts School of Engineering distinguishes itself by the interdisciplinary focus and integrative nature of its engineering education within the intellectually rich environment of a "Research Class 1" University and a top ranking undergraduate institution. Located only six miles from historic downtown Boston, faculty members on the Tufts Medford/Somerville campus have extensive opportunities for academic and industrial collaboration as well as participation in the rich intellectual life of the area. Professor of the Practice

Tufts University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, Professor of the Practice position in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. The primary responsibilities will be to teach the undergraduate process design course, and organize and supervise the senior projects laboratory courses. The ideal candidate would possess a combination of educational and industrial experience in the areas of chemical/biological process design and process technology. Appointment rank will be commensurate with professional experience. The initial appointment term will be for two years with the possibility of renewal contingent on annual performance review results.
