Christos Georgakis Elected To American Association For The Advancement of Science

The American Association for the Advancement of Science recently elected Christos Georgakis - chair of the School of Engineering's department of chemical and biological engineering - as one of its 2004 Fellows. Georgakis was chosen by AAAS for his "innovative contributions to the modeling and control of batch and continuous processes and the integration of process design and control."

AAAS is the world's largest general scientific society and publisher of the journal, Science. Its mission is to advance science and serve society through initiatives in science policy, international programs, science education, and more.

Other Tufts University AAAS Fellows are David Elkind, Sheldon Krimsky and David Walt from Arts and Sciences, Frederick Nelson from Engineering, Norman Krinsky and Catherine Squires from the School of Medicine and Andrew Plaut from the School of Medicine and Tufts-New England Medical Center (source: AAAS).
