Research Background
My current research work is to discover new therapeutic compounds using gene-shuffling technology. This utilizes a technique known as λ-Red recombineering, which we use to modify the chromosome of Escherichia coli. Our laboratory currently has the capability of synthesizing 6-dEB, the precursor to the broad-spectrum antibiotic Erythromycin. Another project of mine is to introduce the genes responsible for full Erythromycin biosynthesis in E. coli.

Personal Information
I am from Fujian, a southern province of China. I earned my bachelors and masters degrees in chemical engineering from Xiamen University and I am now furthering my education here in Tufts University. I am quite interested in biotechnology and enjoy dedicating myself into research in this field. I also enjoy music, swimming, and traveling.
