Scientific/Professional
Tufts holds a prime location amongst the vibrant medical and biotech community in Boston. This situation immediately opens academic and industrial opportunities for faculty and students. Our students have direct access to several major biotech companies (including Wyeth, Amgen, Novartis, Millenium, Pfizer, Biogen, and Genzyme). Hence, opportunities abound for summer internships (primarily for undergraduates) and permanent positions (post graduation). In addition, the scientific community in Boston (arguably the best in the nation) opens research collaborations between both industry and other academic institutions.

Cultural/Regional
Boston also offers a fantastic cultural and social environment. From museums to fine dining to athletics, this historic city offers almost every venue. Tufts is located on the city’s subway line and is only 5 miles from downtown. The local surroundings, highlighted by Davis Square, provide a more casual, yet still lively, alternative. Greater New England offers still more in the way of outdoor activities (skiing, hiking, fishing).
