WHO ARE WE?

The Center for Applied Child Development (CACD) is part of the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. CACD is a professional development and consultation organization, offering customized inservice programs to schools and agencies all over New England. All CACD staff developers are experienced classroom teachers; we work in teams to help other teachers and administrators improve teaching and learning.

WHAT EXACTLY CAN OUR SCHOOL EXPECT FROM CACD?

* A PARTNER: A group of dedicated educators who will learn and grow with you.

* Custom Professional Development: Workshops, Institutes, Seminars, Noncredit Courses, Curriculum Planning Sessions, Guided Observation Programs-professional development experiences designed FOR AND WITH your school faculty based on the needs and interests of the teachers.

* In-Class Coaching and Demonstration Lessons: Opportunities to learn about curriculum, instruction and assessment by observing, analyzing, and co-teaching with CACD staff developers as they model new instructional strategies in your classrooms .

* Technical Support with planning, implementing, and evaluating any and all activities related to this professional development initiative.
