Post-Professional Level Programs (for OTRs)

These degree programs normally take one year for a full-time student to complete. The two degree options are as follows:

Eligibility
Registered occupational therapists or candidates who are eligible for certification.

Prerequisites (Total of five courses.)
One course in introductory statistics passed with a grade of B- or better and taken at an accredited college. Certificate of Hepatitis B vaccination upon enrollment is required.

BSOT offers concentrations of study for post-professional students interested in developing their knowledge base in areas such as:

  • Administration and management Aging

  • Education

  • Mental health

  • Childhood and adolescence

  • Upper extremity function and rehabilitation

Students interested in developing their own program can choose the self-directed concentration focused on their individual interests.

A faculty adviser with appropriate expertise will assist students with their program development. Whether you choose to pursue a self-directed or a specialized concentration, the curriculum consists of core courses, courses in your area of concentration, and electives. Courses can be completed at BSOT, in other departments at Tufts University, or at the Boston Consortium schools which include Boston University, Boston College, and Brandeis University.
