Programs & Courses:
Master's Degree Program
The master's degree programs prepare students for entry-level positions in
occupational therapy or provide post-professional graduate studies for
therapists with a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy. They are designed
to prepare graduates for the increased demands of occupational therapy practice
whether as practitioners, consultants, administrators, researchers, or teaching
faculty. The programs recognize through the selection of courses, the importance
of the profession's theoretical base in both the liberal arts and the sciences.
Entry into the master's degree programs can be accomplished in different ways
depending on the academic degree and professional status of the applicant. All
students, whether at the entry level or post-professional level, may receive a
Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (M.S. in OT) without a thesis or a
Master of Arts (M.A.) or Master of Science (M.S.) with a thesis requirement. The
master of arts or master of science degree is awarded according to the student's
program and area of concentration in both course work and thesis. Course work
must be completed with grades of A or B. (See the
Bulletin of Tufts University for academic policies).
There are several courses of study suggested by the department. To maintain full-time status, a student must be registered
for a minimum of three course credits.
Professional Entry Level Programs (for non OTRs):

If a student's schedule and course requirements allow, one course per semester
may be taken at a Boston Consortium School, which include Boston University,
Boston College, and Brandeis University.
