The Professional Entry Level Occupational Therapy Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 4720 Montgomery Lane, P.O. Box 31220, Bethesda, MD 20824-1220. AOTA's phone number is 301-652-AOTA. The Web site is

National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
Graduates of the entry-level master's program will be eligible to apply for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). After successful completion of this examination, the individual will be certified as an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). For information about the national certification examination, please contact NBCOT at 301-990-7979 or visit
www.nbcot.org.
Most states require licensure in order for therapists to practice. Some state licenses are based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination. For specific information on individual state licensure procedures, contact the respective state.
Please note that a felony conviction may affect a graduate's ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure.
