Jing Zhao
President & CEO of Agiltron Inc.

Dr. Zhao is current CEO of AGILTRON. Dr. Zhao was co-founder of NZ Applied Technologies Corporation (NZ). He founded NZ in 1992 to create novel active optical components based on new materials for the emerging fiberoptic communications market. Between 1993 and 2000, NZ grew from a two-person startup to a company with over 100 employees. In 1999, NZ successfully launched the world's first non-mechanical no-moving-parts light attenuator, the fastest and smallest VOA on the market. In 2000, NZ introduced commercial solid-state polarization transform (PT) devices for ultra-high speed optical networks. NZ was ranked 221 out of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in the U.S by INC. Magazine and was acquired by Corning Incorporated in April 2000.

Dr. Zhao holds a MS and a Ph.D in Solid State Physics from Michigan State University. He also completed a Postdoctoral Fellow in Material Science from Northwestern University, and an Entrepreneurial Management Program from Babson College. He has authored or co-authored over forty technical papers
(27 published in Appl. Phys. Lett.), and several book chapters. He has received eleven granted or pending patents in the areas of optoelectronic devices and material processing.
