Biochemistry

The major in biochemistry is administered jointly by the Chemistry and Biology Departments

Required courses in Chemistry include 1 (or 11 or 16) and 2 (or 12), followed by Chemistry 31, 42, 51/53, 52/54 and 171/172. Required courses in Biology include 13L, 41, 50 (or Chem. Eng. 163) and105. Course work in mathematics (Math 12) and physics (Physics 2 or 12) is required as prerequisites for Chemistry 31.

If at all possible, students are strongly encouraged to carry out a research project either during the academic year or during the summer.
