Temporary, Part-time Lecturer Position In Cell Biology
The department of Biology invites applications for a position
teaching the following course in spring 2010.
Biology 46, Cell Biology. Basic concepts of cellular organization,
function, regulation. Emphasis on molecular/biochemical approach to
fundamentals of bioenergetics; plasma membrane functions such as
transport, secretion, and signal transduction; organelle function
and biogenesis; cell growth and division.

The course is normally offered Mondays and Wednesdays,
10:30-11:45am. Enrollment will not exceed 90 students.
Candidate should have a doctoral degree and relevant teaching and/or
research experience. Applicants should submit a cover letter

Temporary, Part-time Lecturer Position in
Experiments in Cell Biology
The department of Biology invites applications for a position
teaching in the following team-taught course in spring 2010.
Biology 52, Experiments in Cell Biology. The field of Cell Biology
focuses on examining cells and the behaviors they perform. This
course will introduce students to the investigation of several
laboratory problems using standard techniques of cell biology.
Emphasis on subcellular fractionation, microscopy, cell culture, and
chromatography. One laboratory session per week plus one discussion
period.

The course is offered Thursdays 1:00-5:00pm. Enrollments will not
exceed 12 students.

In Biochemistry and Cellular Metabolism
The department of Biology invites applications for a position
teaching in the following team –taught course in spring 2010.
Biology 152, Biochemistry and Cellular Metabolism. An in-depth
examination of the structure and function of biomolecules: chemical
and physical properties of proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids;
enzyme kinetics and mechanisms; metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids,
and amino acids and the metabolic relationships of organ systems.

The course is normally offered Mondays 9:30-10:20am, Tuesdays and
Thursdays 10:30-11:20am. Enrollment will not exceed 150 students.
