- Winter 1976 - Fall 1978 Environmental Research Laboratory, USEPA, Narragansett,
R.I. Marine Biologist. Studies conducted: Effects of No. 2 fuel oil on gastropod
survival, locomotion, and reproduction; Growth and energetics of gastropod and
crustacean larvae exposed to sublethal concentrations of No. 2 fuel oil.
Research Interests
- Environmental and developmental factors influencing length of larval life
and capacity for delayed metamorphosis by larvae of marine invertebrates. Effects
of delayed metamorphosis and other larval stresses on postmetamorphic fitness.
- Understanding the control of metamorphosis in marine gastropods, and the role
of nitric oxide.
- Functional properties of invertebrate encapsulating structures.
- Sublethal effects of pollutants on marine invertebrate reproductive biology.
