Assignment II
Each student will summarize one aspect of a recent article (1997 or later) from the primary research literature. The summary can be no longer than two pages, must be in your own words, and must be typed with double-spacing.

Begin by selecting a paper of interest from any Topics For Further Discussion and Investigation section in your textbook. You will then use Science Citation Index to locate a more recent paper on that same topic.

Your summary will be based on any ONE figure or table in that recent paper. For that one selected figure or table, state the specific question being addressed. Then, in one paragraph, summarize the methods used to investigate that one question.

Finally, state in two separate sentences what strikes you as the two most interesting or important results illustrated in that figure or table. At the top of your summary include the full citation of BOTH the source paper and the paper you are summarizing, using the exact format of The Biological Bulletin. On a separate (2nd or 3rd page) at the end of your summary include a copy of the graph or table that you worked with, including its caption.
