Research in Biochemistry appears in a wide variety of journals, many of which focus on one area or another (e.g. Nitric Oxide Research, Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, British Journal of Pharmacology). These journals tend to be carefully refereed and to publish long and complete articles in a wide variety of topics. However, many other speciality journals are also important and the best guide to what journals might be examined will come from someone knowledgeable about the specific area. The articles in this journal are shorter and less comprehensive than those published in J. Biol. Chem. and Biochem. but they often cover important new findings.       Tisch Bound Periodicals Q11 .N26 Vol.1, 1915 - Current Issues: Biology Reading Room, Barnum         Science       Published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, this weekly journal has short articles of current interest as well as excellent short summaries of current research and political events affecting research.       Tisch Bound Periodicals Q1 .S35 Vol. 1, 1883 - Current Issues: Tisch Current Periodicals, Tisch Library / Chemistry Reading Room, Pearson         Trends in Biochemical Sciences       This publication consists of short review articles on topics in biochemistry. A very good entry point to the literature.       Tisch Bound Periodicals QH345 .T74 Vol. 4, 1979 - Current issues: Biology Reading Room, Barnum             Both Science and Nature publish very concise articles which they deem to be of immediate importance. However, they tend to focus on a limited set of "fashionable" areas and the articles tend to be so short they can be difficult to follow. However, both journals have "news" sections which summarize important current research that are worthwhile to look through.
