FEIGER EARNS SECOND NESCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

MEDFORD -- Setter Dena Feiger (Long Grove, IL) of the Tufts University volleyball team was selected as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Week for the second time this season and for the third time of her career. She shares this week's honor with Ruby Hernandez from Wesleyan.

A senior co-captain, Feiger led the Jumbos to a 4-0 record this week that included winning the Hall of Fame Invitational at Smith College. Tufts opened the week with a three-set win at Endicott College on Wednesday. The top seed in the eight-team Gold Bracket at the Hall of Fame tournament, Tufts started with a 3-1 win over Smith on Friday night. The Jumbos went on to defeat MIT and Williams in three sets apiece on Saturday to take the title. Feiger was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

In the final against Williams, Feiger had 45 assists in three sets for a sensational 15.0 average. She was also a defensive leader with 13 digs as the Jumbos defeated the Ephs for the third time this season. In the tournament opener against Smith, Feiger led Tufts with 22 digs. At Endicott, she had 40 assists in three sets.

For the week, Feiger averaged 11.1 assists per set with 144 in 13. Her 51 digs in the four matches were an average of 3.92 per set. In 26 matches played this season (88 sets), Feiger is averaging 10.84 assists and 2.52 digs per set. The Jumbos have a 25-2 overall record.

After earning Most Valuable Player honors for the Tufts Invitational back in early October, Feiger was first named NESCAC Player of the Week on October 5. This is the third time this season that a Jumbo player has earned the award. Feiger first received the honor as a sophomore in October 2007.
