SWETT, GARDEL & KONO QUALIFY FOR NCAA WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIPS

MEDFORD -- Three members of the Tufts women's swimming & diving team will compete at the 2008 NCAA Division III Championships at Miami University's Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center in Oxford, Ohio March 13-15.

Senior diver Kendall Swett (Akron, OH), sophomore diver Lindsay Gardel (Wayland, MA) and first-year swimmer Megan Kono (LaGrange, IL) will represent Coach Nancy Bigelow's Tufts team. Swett and Gardel will both be entered in the 1- and 3-meter diving competitions and Kono will swim the 200, 500 and 1,650 freestyles.

The 500 freestyle and 1-meter diving will be held on Thursday (March 15). The 200 freestyle and the first round of 3-meter diving is on Friday (March 16). Saturday's final day of competition will feature the 1,650 freestyle and the finals for 3-meter diving.
