Results
CAMBRIDGE -- The Tufts University women's sailing team had a solid
sixth-place finish at Harvard University's Victorian Coffee Urn
competition over the weekend. The Jumbos finished with a score of 113,
four points out of the top five.
Sailing in A Division, junior skipper Catherine Swanson
(Charleston, SC) and crews Margaret Rew (Princeton, NJ) and
Reeves Bright (Coatesville, PA) took sixth place with a 47 score in
eight races. Rew crewed the first through sixth races in windy
conditions on Saturday, and Bright was on board for Sunday's two races.
The Tufts boat won the final race of the event and also had two thirds
during the weekend.
Senior Peggy Tautz (Littleton, CO) skipper the Tufts B
Division boat. Junior Sally Levinson (Winchester, MA) crewed for
races 1, 2, 5 and 8, while team captain Meghan Pesch (Chicago, IL)
was crew for the third and fourth races. Tufts was ninth in B with
66 score. Tautz and Levinson won the fifth race late on Saturday.
Boston College won the regatta.
The Jumbos next compete at the Atlantic Coast Championships November
14-15 at Brown.
