Results
ANNAPOLIS -- The Tufts University women's sailing team competed in
three divisions at the 2009 Navy Fall Inter-sectional over the weekend.
The Jumbos were seventh out of 16 teams with a 343 final score.
The A Division team of senior skipper Peggy Tautz
(Littleton, CO) and junior crew Sally Levinson (Winchester, MA)
were eighth overall with finishes totaling up to 123 in 16 races. They
won the ninth race, were second in the fifth and 13th and took third in
the finale.
In 16 B Division races, Jumbo first-year skipper
Natalie Salk (Jamestown, RI) and sophomore
Katie Booras (Swampscott, MA) placed seventh with a 115 score. They
were consistent, finishing among the top half 13 times, highlighted by a
second in the 12th race.
Sophomore Renee Gagne (Darien, CT) sailed single-handedly in
the C Division. She had the best Tufts divisional finish with a fifth
place, scoring 105 points. Among her 16 races were a first, a second,
and a third.
Tufts sails at the Yale Inter-sectional next weekend.
