BRUNSWICK, Me. -- The Tufts University women's lacrosse team scored the last five goals of the game en route to an 11-7 win at Bowdoin College on Saturday afternoon. The Jumbos, ranked 20th in Division III, improve to 7-3 (3-3 NESCAC) while the 12th-ranked Polar Bears (6-4, 1-3) lose their second consecutive game.

Tied at five at halftime, senior Sarah Williams (Bethesda, MD) gave Tufts a brief lead just three minutes into the second period. Bowdoin responded with a pair of goals from Lindsay McNamara and Christina Denitzio before the Jumbos started their decisive run.

First-year Amanda Roberts (Wenham, MA), who finished with a game-high five goals, scored twice in the 5-0 run sandwiched around tallies from sophomore Emily Johnson (Yarmouth, ME) and junior Chrissie Attura (Yarmouth, ME). First-year goalie Sara Bloom (Summit, NJ) finished with 13 saves in the Tufts cage for the win. The Jumbos matched last season's victory total.

Bowdoin was led by two goals apiece from Denitzio and Ashley Peterson. Stephanie Collins-Finn stopped seven shots in goal for Bowdoin, who committed 18 turnovers as a team.

Tufts, who committed 21 turnovers themselves, also received a pair of goals from Attura. Bowdoin out-shot Tufts 26-20 and trailed in draw controls 12-8.
