JUMBOS JOIN BIG SISTERS OF GREATER BOSTON FOR FIELD HOCKEY CLINIC
MEDFORD -- The Tufts University field hockey program, directed by
Coach Tina McDavitt, ran a volunteer field hockey clinic event for
the Big Sisters of Boston on Saturday, July 21 at Tufts University's
Bello Field.
Sixteen children and mentors from the Big Sister Association of
Greater Boston came to Medford to learn how to play field
hockey. Each child was given a field hockey stick, ball, and shin
guards.
Since 1951, Big Sister Association of Greater Boston has been
helping girls reach their full potential through positive mentoring
relationships with women. Big Sister is the largest mentoring
organization in Greater Boston exclusively serving girls, covering
69 cities, town and communities.
"We had a great day," McDavitt said. "It was a positive
experience for everyone. The children had a lot of fun, it was
meaningful to our players and coaches and we promoted the great game
of field hockey."
