JUMBO THIRD PERFORMS WELL AT DARTMOUTH RELAYS
COLLEGE WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD RESULTS

HANOVER, N.H. -- With a third of the roster making the trip, the Tufts University women's indoor track & field team made a strong showing at the Dartmouth Relays over the weekend. The Jumbos took seventh place out of 15 collegiate tames by scoring 28 points.
The top Tufts performances were third-place finishes by sophomore Laura Walls (Clarksville, MD) in the 1 Mile Run (5 minutes 11.81 seconds) and the 4x400 meter relays (4:05.66). The 4x4 consisted of freshman Aubrey Wasser (Richmond, VT), junior tri-captain Rachel Bloom (Sharon, MA), sophomore Joyce Uang (Medford, MA) and senior Jackie Ferry (Studio City, CA).
The 4x200 relay and the Distance Medley Relay (DMR) also ran good early-season times. The 4x2 of Wasser, sophomore Kaleigh Fitzpatrick (Lynnfield, MA), Uang and Bloom combined for a 1:49.44 time that was fifth overall. In the DMR, senior tri-captain Becca Ades (Shelburne, VT), senior Daniela Fairchild (Somerset, MA), freshman Susan Allegretti (Crown Point, IN) and sophomore Katy O'Brien (North Easton, MA) also placed fifth with a time of 12:44.39.
Other individual highlights were Ferry placing seventh in 400 meter dash (1:01.58), Fitzpatrick earning seventh in triple jump (33 feet, 10 3/4 inches/10.33 meters) and Ades running eighth in the 1 Mile (5:23.45).
