TROMBLY LEADS TEAM TO TUFTS INVITATIONAL TITLE

MEDFORD -- Junior Jessica Trombly (Nashua, NH) continued to display her amazing athleticism with three victories to lead the Tufts Women's Indoor Track & Field team to first place at the Tufts Invitational on Saturday. Head Coach Kristen Morwick's Jumbos won by a handy margin, scoring 173 points to 109.5 by second place Springfield.
Trombly won the 55 Meter Dash in 7.42 seconds, the 800 Meter Run with a 2:19.70 time and the 55 Meter Hurdles with a 8.67 finish. She also placed second in the Long Jump with a best leap of 17 feet flat. Senior
Mary Nodine (Portland, ME) was the only other Tufts winner in the 3,000 Meter Run (11:06.28).
Freshman Rachel Bloom (Sharon, MA) continued to be a factor in the sprints, placing second in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 26.87. Senior
Danielle Perrin (Watertown, CT) also earned a second with her 5:00.51 time in the 1,500 Meter Run. Freshman
Molly Whittington (Lenoir, NC) also picked up eight points as the runner-up in the Triple Jump with a 32-9 1/2 best. The 4x200 and 4x400 relays also posted seconds in 1:48.21 and 4:09.66, respectively.
