Game Box Score

BRUNSWICK, Me. - The Tufts University women's soccer team rallied from a one-goal deficit to deal Bowdoin their fifth straight loss on Saturday, 2-1. Tufts improves to 4-2-2 overall and 2-1-2 in NESCAC while Bowdoin falls to 2-5-2.

Bowdoin scored quickly, getting on the board just five minutes into the first half. Ivy Blackmore took a shot at the top on the box, putting it over the goalie's head into the far corner of the goal.

Bowdoin was able to keep the lead until the second half when Rebecca Abbott (New Orleans, LA) was able to get above everyone and head in a ball from a perfectly placed corner kick from teammate Joelle Emery (Bedford, NH) at 58:58 into the game. Tufts secured their lead when Lauren Fedore (East Lansing, MI) was able to put a shot into the right corner of the goal with 20 minutes left in the game. The game-winning goal capped a great week for Fedore, who scored twice when Tufts ended a seven-game unbeaten string by Brandeis on Wednesday.

Kat Popoff had seven saves for Bowdoin. Annie Ross (Newton, MA) had three saves for Tufts, which is now 4-0-1 in its last five games.

The Jumbos, #9 in this week's New England poll, have an important mid-week NESCAC match when they play Wesleyan on Tuesday. The Cardinals stunned the Jumbos last fall, 1-0. That same day Bowdoin's next game against the University of New England will be played.
