MEDFORD, MA -  The Tufts women's soccer team dominated Simmons all afternoon in a darkness-shortened 2-0 non-conference win Tuesday afternoon.  Controlling the play, but not putting away any of their twenty first-half shots on net, Tufts came out strong in the second half and made it official with Becca Doigan (West Bloomfield, MI) finishing a nice passing sequence with Jen Baldwin (Medway, MA) in the 51st minute.

Out shooting the Sharks 42 to 1 and keeping the pressure on Simmons keeper Amanda Cummings (Norway, ME), Tufts battled a physical Simmons team on the cold afternoon.  Numerous Jumbo shots found their way directly to Cummings, but the offense persevered and sophomore Becky Greenstein (Newton, MA) tapped one in at 86:05 off the nifty play of freshman Sarah Callaghan (Northborough, MA).

Fifteen Tufts players had at least one shot on goal and goalie Meg McCourt (Rochester, NY) needed to register just one save in the Jumbo-controlled match.  Cummings had fourteen saves for the Sharks.

Tufts is in a four way tie for first place in the tough NESCAC women's soccer standings, with one game to play in the regular season.  Simmons remains strong in the GNAC at a 6-2 record.
