MEDFORD -- The Tufts women's soccer team stretched its unbeaten streak to five games with a 3-1 victory over Trinity College in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon.

Tufts entered the game tied for fifth place4 in the New England Division III rankings and with a 4-0-1 record during the past three weeks. Trinity (3-5-1) didn't back down, scoring the first goal less than 10 minutes into the match. Sophomore midfielder Bridget Duilea connected off a pass from freshman Megan Roscio.

A splendid goal put Tufts on the scoreboard 10 minutes later. Sophomore midfeilder Becky Mann (Ridgefield, CT) kicked the tying goal into the upper left corner of the net off a feed from sophomore Katie Ruddy (Mercer Island, WA).

The game remained 1-1 until midway through the second half, when Tufts took charge quickly. Junior midfielder Sara Yeatman (Santa Monica, CA), finally playing healthy after a frustrating first half of the season, broke the tie on an assist from freshman Elizabeth Tooley (Syracuse, NY) at 65:34. Fifty-nine seconds later, senior co-captain Eden Hauslaib (Storrs, CT) recorded her third of the season off a pass from sophomore Lynn Cooper (Wilton, CT) to put the Jumbos up 3-1.

Tufts had 23 shots on goal, forcing Trinity keeper Sarah Bradley to make 16 stops. Junior tri-captain Randee McArdle (East Nassau, NY) had six saves in the Tufts goal. The win was Tufts's fifth straight over the Bantams.

The Jumbos are at Curry on Tuesday (Oct. 19) at 3:30.
