MEDFORD Senior captain Hillary Dunn (Medfield, MA) finished with 11 points, nine rebounds and eight assists as the Tufts women's basketball team wiped out Lasell College, 80-37, in non-conference action on Tuesday night at Cousens Gym.

Tufts, ranked ninth in today's New England poll, improved to 15-3 with the win. That matches the program's best victory total of the last 12 years. The Jumbos, who finished their non-conference home schedule with a 7-0 record, were led by 19 points from freshman guard Jessica Powers (Massapequa, NY). Lasell, which shot just 29.1 percent (16/55) and fell to 6-11 overall, received 13 points and eight rebounds from junior Keri Tucker (Mexico, ME).

Tufts did not trail in the game after Dunn opened with a three-pointer 13 seconds in. Lasell missed its first 16 shots before sophomore Stacy George (El Paso, TX) converted a short jumper at 9:33 of the first half. Tufts led 19-5 at that point, twice opened up a 21-point margin, and had a 36-18 advantage at the break. After missing the first 16, Lasell finished the half 7 for 12. Powers had 13 points at halftime for the Jumbos, while Tucker had seven for the Lasers.

Lasell was only able to get within 16 points, 45-29, on a Tucker lay-up at 14:21 of the second half. The Jumbos then ran off a 20-5 stretch to lead by 32, 65-33, on another three by Dunn at the 8:25 mark. The 43-point final margin was the highest of the game.
