WENHAM -- The Tufts Women's Basketball team improved to 11-2 overall with a 68-52 victory at Gordon College on Thursday night. Junior Maritsa Christoudias (Saddle River, NJ) led the Jumbos with 13 points, nine rebounds and three steals.

Tufts has won 11 of its last 12 games and improved to 4-0 on the road. Freshman Jessica Powers (Massapequa, NY), freshman Julia Verplank (Zeeland, MI) and sophomore Allison Love (Duxbury, MA) all pitched in 11 points for Tufts. The host Scots featured senior Barbara Goodwin tallying 15 points to break the career 1,000 point barrier, but they couldn't keep pace with the Jumbos as they dropped their third game in a row. Gordon falls to 4-9 overall.

Gordon's Sarah Deluca was the game's high scorer tallying 21 points while grabbing a team-high nine rebounds. Tufts controlled the boards (a 35-27 rebounding edge) and the tempo of the game while on their way to victory. Tufts hit on 50 percent of its shots in the first half (14-28), including four of six three-pointers, to take a 33-25 lead at the break.

The Jumbos continue NESCAC action with a home game against Bates on Saturday afternoon at 3:00.
