WELLESLEY, MASS. -- Babson College began the game with a 10-0 run and never looked back as the Beavers dominated Tufts University, 69-47, in collegiate women's basketball action on Tuesday night.

Babson (4-0) led 32-22 at the break thanks to 11 first-half points from junior Meredith Eddy (North Andover, Mass.). The Beavers eventually built their lead to as much as 27 late in the second half as they cruised to the 69-47 victory.

Eddy and senior co-captain Angela Botticelli (Wakefield, Mass.) each scored 13 points to lead Babson, while sophomore
Johanna Maher (North Easton, Mass.) added nine points on three-of-six shooting from beyond the arc. The Beavers got
outstanding defensive efforts from sophomores Ingrid Miller (East Lyme, Conn.) and Patricia Leahy (Dorchester,
Mass.), who combined to hold Tufts' leading scorer Emily Goodman (Briarcliff, N.Y.) to just 13 points on 5-of-21 shooting. Miller pulled down 11 rebounds, blocked three shots and recorded three steals, while Leahy added eight rebounds in the winning effort.

Goodman grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds to lead the Jumbos (1-1), while first-year Maritsa Christoudias (Saddle River, N.J.) chipped in with nine points and five boards.
