Julia Baily scored a season-high 24 points in the Park Lodge Tournament final

WESTON -- Senior Julia Baily (Farmington, CT) was a force as the Tufts University women's basketball team won the Park Lodge Tournament championship game, 78-56, against host Regis College on Sunday afternoon. Baily posted the game's only double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds. She shot 82 percent (nine of 11) from the floor and snagged a game-high seven defensive rebounds.

Tufts improved to 8-1 with their eighth consecutive victory. Regis dropped to 6-3.

Regis gave Tufts a slight scare when they closed the Jumbo lead to one in the second half. Having trailed for much of the game, Regis' Jessica Page (Quincy, MA) sank a three-pointer to close the Jumbos lead to 38-37 with 16:37 remaining in the second half. However, Tufts scored the next 12 points to take command. The Jumbos got points from five different players during the stretch and led 50-37 at 13:37. The visitors led comfortably over the remainder of the game.

Junior guard Colleen Hart (Needham, MA) was named the Park Lodge Tournament Most Valuable Player for her weekend performance. After leading Tufts' win over Maine Maritime in the opening round with 21 points, she poured in 20 points during the championship game. Hart set a new Tufts program record for career three-pointers on Saturday night and added two more to lift her total to 142.

Tufts sophomore Kate Barnosky (Huntington Station, NY) was named to the All-Tournament team. She had eight points in the final. Sophomore guard Tiffany Kornegay (Carver, MA) went six of 11 from the floor, and was a perfect two of two from the free throw line for her 14 points in the game.

Page finished with 15 points on six of 10 shooting from the floor to lead Regis. The senior was perfect from behind the arc (three of three) and was named to the All-Tournament team. The Pride's Stephanie Crawford (Rockland, MA) added 11 points to Regis' total.

Tufts is off for the next two weeks before traveling to the Land of Magic Classic in Florida later this month. Tufts plays Allegheny next on December 28. Regis next hosts Brandies on New Year's Eve day.
