5k Race Results
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Two teams of Tufts University men's cross country
runners competed at the Plansky Invitational hosted by Williams
College on Saturday Mt. Greylock High School. The Jumbos were third
out of nine squads in an eight-kilometer race and second out of
three teams in a five-kilometer baseball.
The Jumbo varsity line-up ran in the 8k race and compiled a score
of 62. Juniors Jesse Faller (Burlington, MA) and Nick
Welch (Seattle, WA) placed sixth and seventh in the race with
26:50.6 and 26:50.8 times, respectively. Likewise, sophomore
Chris Brunnquell (Harrington Park, NJ) and junior Ryan Lena (Orono,
ME) finished back-to-back in 15th (27:18.6) and 16th (27:20.5),
respectively. The fifth Tufts scorer, in 18th overall, was sophomore
Jerzy Eisenberg-Guyot (Brookline, MA) with a 27:25.3 time.
Sixty-one runners competed overall.
They were led by freshman Phillip Grannan (Cincinnati, OH)
in the 5k race with a 17:12.6 time for fourth in the 21-man race.
Freshman Connor Rose (Irvine, CA) was less than a second
behind in sixth place with a 17:13.3 finish. Also in the top 10 for
Tufts was freshman Henry Frey (Providence, RI) in 17:16.6.
Scoring fourth and fifth for the Jumbos were juniors Jason
Hanrahan (Westport, CT) in 17:42.9 (11th) and Alex Landy
(Dover, MA) in 17:54.5 (12th), respectively.
The Jumbos race for the conference championship on November 1 at
