COLLEGE MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS
41st Annual Codfish Bowl
At Boston, MA (Franklin Park)
Saturday, September 27, 2008
BOSTON -- Tufts men's cross country junior Jesse Faller
(Burlington, MA) won the 41st Annual Codfish Bowl run at
Franklin Park in Boston on Saturday afternoon. Faller defeated a
field of 155 runners with a 25:42 time, out-kicking Nicholas KoIyet
from New York Institute of Technology (25:45) and Kibrom Temelso of
the Greater Boston Track Club (25:47).
The team had made last-minute arrangements to run in the race
after the late cancellation of the Connecticut College cross country invitational
due to heavy rains. Coach Ethan Barron's harriers were the runner-up
out of 17 teams at the eight-kilometer Codfish Bowl event. Their 76
total was only behind Greater Boston TC's 49.
Classmate Nick Welch (Seattle, WA) followed Faller across
the finish line, placing fourth with a 25:54 time. Yet another
member of the junior class, Ryan Lena (Orono, ME) was third
for Tufts and 23rd overall in 26:46. Sophomores Jeff Ragazzini
(Wilton, CT) and Jerzy Eisenberg-Guyot (Brookline, MA)
were 29th and 30th respectively with 26:59 and 27:08 times.
The Jumbos are idle next weekend and then run at Franklin Park
again in the New England Championship on October 11.
