MANCHESTER, Conn. -- Junior Jesse Faller (Burlington, MA) was fourth individually and Tufts men's cross country was fourth as a team at the Trinity College Invitational on Saturday afternoon to open the 2008 season.

Faller wasn't far off the lead, finishing with a 16:41 time. Trinity College's Michael Burnstein won in a 16:21.

The Jumbos were part of a five-team race at the 11-team invitational. They finished with 80 points, edging Stonehill College (85). Sixth-place Rhode Island had a score of 208. UMass Lowell won the invitational with 50 points, edging Trinity College by one point.

The Jumbos had their five scorers among the top 26 runners at the race, which featured 148 total competitors. Junior Nick Welch (Seattle, WA) was second for the Jumbos and 15th overall with a 16:55 time. Sophomores Jerzy Eisenberg-Guyot (Brookline, MA) and Jeff Ragzzzini (Wilton, CT) were both close behind, placing 17th (17:00) and 18th (17:02), respectively. Junior Ryan Lena (Orono, ME) finished off the scoring for Tufts in 26th place (17:15).
