JUMBOS THIRD OUT OF NINE AT WILLIAMS COLLEGE'S PLANSKY INVITATIONAL

Race Results

WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Tufts men's cross country team placed three runners in the top ten at the annual Plansky Invitational hosted by Williams College on Saturday afternoon. Competing on a six-kilometer course at Mount Greylock High School, the Tufts team took third place out of nine teams with 81 points.

Senior tri-captain Dave Sorensen (Dover, MA) led the top ten contingent in fifth place overall with a time of 19 minutes, 20 seconds. Right on his heels was sophomore Jesse Faller (Burlington, MA), who finished in 19:21. Sophomore Nick Welch (Seattle, WA) came in ninth place with a 19:30 time. Just outside of the top 10 was Jumbo freshman Greg Pallotta (Syracuse, NY) in 11th place with a 19:33 time. Also scoring for Tufts was junior David Tilton (Newmarket, NH) in 50th place overall (20:34).

MIT won the team championship with 34 points, while Williams College's Edgar Kosgey won the race in 19:10. The host Ephs were second overall with 41 points, placing four runners in the top 10 individually.

The Jumbos will take next weekend off in anticipation of the NESCAC Championship Race on this same Williams course October 27.
