KEENE, N.H. -- Senior tri-captain Chris Kantos (Apple Valley,
MN) ran in a cross country race for the first time in well over
a year, and he ran very well to help the Jumbos place third at the
10-team Keene State College Invitational on Saturday.
Kantos covered the five-mile course in 26 minutes, 49 seconds for
fourth place overall. He was 24 seconds off the pace set by race
champion Mark Garcia from UMass Lowell, who posted a 26:25 finish.
With most of the team's top seven taking the week off, Kantos
wasn't alone in producing a promising effort for the Jumbos.
Freshman Chris Brunnquell (Harrington Park, NJ) delivered
26th place finish in the 100-man race with a time of 28:35. He led a
pack of four Jumbos runners that all scored in the top 26 spots.
Freshman Andrew Bellet (Wynnewood, PA) finished 31st in
28:43, senior Matt Alander (Hamden, CT) was 35th in 28:55,
and senior tri-captain Alex Bloom (Lansdale, PA) took 37th in

Jumbos with 96 points.
