Nick Welch led four Jumbos who placed in the top 25
 

NORTH DARTMOUTH -- The Tufts men's cross country team placed four runners in the top 25 among a field of 225 on their way to a seventh-place finish at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Both sophomore Nick Welch (Seattle, WA) and senior tri-captain Dave Sorensen (Dover, MA) finished the five-mile run in 25 minutes, 45 seconds to lead Tufts. Welch earned 15th place and Sorensen was 16th. Sophomore Jesse Faller (Burlington, MA), the runner-up at Trinity College last week, was 20th with a 25:48 time. Freshman Greg Pallotta (Syracuse, NY) was close behind with a 25:54 time for 24th place.

Also scoring for Tufts was sophomore Billy Hale (Menlo Park, CA), who scored 89 points with a 94th place finish (27:45).

Coach Ethan Barron's Jumbos accumulated 164 points. Trinity College won the race with 55 points. Bantam Hunter Norte was the individual champion with a 24:46 finish.
