Men's Cross Country team ran in the New England Cross Country Championships on
Friday (Oct. 11) at Franklin Park in Boston.
The team finished an impressive 15th out of a field of 46 teams that
included Division I, II, and III schools.
Sophomore Nate Brigham (Penacook, NH) crossed the line first for the Jumbos for the third time this season, finishing in 32nd place with a time of 25:01. Junior Peter Bromka (Portland, OR) finished in 95th place with a time of 25:58. Freshman Neil Orfield (Burnsville, MN) finished ten seconds behind Bromka with a time of 26:08, good for 113th place. To round out the scoring for the Jumbos, junior Ian Joseph (Lexington, MA) finished in 140th place with a time of 26:21, and freshman Matt Lacey (Amherst, MA) finished one second later in 142nd place.
Jumbos finished with a score of 522, just behind University of
Massachusetts-Amherst, who finished with a score of 512.
Providence College won the event with a score of 36 points.
Adam Sutton of Providence College won the race in 23:31. A total of 311 runners finished the race.
Jumbos will next compete at the James Early Invite hosted by Westfield State on
Saturday (Oct. 19).
