JUMBOS RUNNER-UP TO AMHERST AT OWN INVITATIONAL
MENíS CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS

-- The Tufts Men's
Cross Country team competed in their fourth meet of the season, hosting the
Jumbo Invitational in Grafton, Mass. on Homecoming weekend.
The team finished in an impressive second place out of six tough teams
including Amherst College, Williams College, and Wesleyan University.
Nate Brigham (Penacook, NH) finished first for Tufts clocking in at
26:33.29 to place third overall. Freshmen
Neil Orfield (Burnsville, MN) and Matt
Lacey (Amherst, MA) finished in 27:09.90 to get ninth place and 27:21.31 to
get 14th place, respectively. Juniors
Jon Rosen (Amherst, MA) in 27:26.35
and Ian Joseph (Lexington, MA) in
27:35.94 rounded out the top five for the Jumbos, capturing 16th and 19th
The Jumbos (61 points) finished only four points behind winner Amherst College (57 pts), who got three out of the top ten spots, and just one point ahead of Williams College (62 pts). The other finishers for Tufts included junior Peter Bromka (Portland, OR) in 27:37.42, freshman Mike Cummings (Chesire, CT) in 27:43.13, freshman Tim Creedon (Holden, MA) in 27:43.91, junior Zach Chrisco (Brattleboro, VT) in 27:58.03, junior Pete Jurczynski (Schenectady, NY) in 28:03.13, and sophomore Mike Don (Clayton, MO) in 28:08.91.
The Jumbos take next week off, then compete in the All-New England Championship Race at Franklin Park in Boston on Friday afternoon, October 11.
